Upon birth, people will typically have 20 primary teeth which are also known as baby teeth. 
These teeth will start to erupt during 6 months of age. And at various intervals, the individual baby teeth will be shed during childhood.
By the age of 21 years old, all 32 permanent teeth have already erupted.
