Teeth can vary in many different ways whether in size, location within the jaws, or shape. These factors and differences actually help determine how well you can chew your food, speak, or even make a smile. These factors can also help determine the contours of your face.

Upon birth, people will typically have 20 primary teeth which are also known as baby teeth.  These teeth will start to erupt during 6 months of age. And at various intervals, the individual baby teeth will be shed during childhood.

By the age of 21 years old, all 32 permanent teeth have already erupted.
